I almost lost my job because I said as a k teacher (at the time) the Lucy Caulkins is inappropriate. Like put on a plan because I did not do exactly what Lucy’s book said. Science of reading IS appropriate. Lucy was not. Now a few years later and turns out I might have been correct!
