@venturia66: The RT-64 is a massive, fully steerable radio telescope featuring a 64-meter diameter parabolic dish, one of the largest movable radio antennas on Earth.The most famous example stands at the Kalyazin Radio Astronomy Observatory in Tver Oblast, Russia, about 200 km north of Moscow. Construction began in the 1970s during the Soviet era, with the structure completed around 1974 and full scientific operations starting in 1992 after the USSR's collapse. Its enormous dish roughly the length of two basketball courts side by side rises from a rotating base, allowing it to track objects across the sky. Originally engineered for deep-space communication supporting Soviet robotic missions to Venus, Mars, the Moon, and other planetary probes it also served as part of global spacecraft tracking networks.
