Best thing you could have done was just stop and let the car driver get impatient enough to move their car. A couple of minutes is enough to let them find their courage 🤗

Why would they drive forward? If they move and come into contact with you, it’s their fault, if they’re stationary and you hit them, it’s your fault, simple.

To be fair, any car driver pulled in on a verge would stay there until safe to manoeuvre after you have passed. Not all verges are safe to drive on and could easily pull a vehicle into the ditch. A bit of patience, you got through!!
