The only issue I have with this episode is that yes, Eddie lied prior to this, which would justify Carl being skeptical. But has Eddie ever come up with this elaborate of a story that ultimately puts him in a worse light, knowing where he stands with Carl? Not to mention, it’s not like Carl is unaware of this kind of behavior from cops, so I suppose they went this way for the sake of drama.

Hey yall… lay off Carl for two seconds. You gotta take the whole episode in context. Eddie got a speeding ticket earlier in the episode. Carl, a COP and a father, has Eddie on a short leash with his driving. Carl is put in a position trying to figure out if Eddie is telling the truth or if he’s covering up another ticket (which Eddie is known to do). Only after Carl confronting the cops does he fully take Eddie’s side and apologize.
