Elite guy here. Both kids went to trade school in high school and the oldest is an apprentice in the electrical union with two retirement accounts and a pension. I think you need very specific goals to make college worth it.

Most wealthy people send their kids to college… but they also make sure their child doesn’t leave with ANY sort of student loan debt. You won’t hear a single wealthy person saying taking out student loans is a good idea: 1. It is COMPOUND interest and 2. It’s debt to the federal government. Just so damaging to your financial health!

It’s worth it because even if you get a good job with potential to move up in a company, there will come a point that unless you have any college degree they will not pay you what you deserve and you will not be able to move up further or go to another company doing what you’re doing now you need a college degree to advance your career after a certain point that’s what people don’t realize
