Ohh, I did an Inter-rail in the ‘80’s from Ireland to Greece. It was exciting, romantic and visually exquisite.

It's more expensive The network is shut at weekends fur work It's shut at Christmas It's shut at Easter It's shut every other evening after cable theft

Terrible characterization of train traveling. It is more expensive, it is less convenient as you have to change often with suitcases, there are all different providers with different ticketing system, no waiting and if one train delayed your whole trip is screwed and not forget it is way slower. But yeh otherwise it is good.
