@crimexpod: On June 12, 2021, 24-year-old Stephanie Melgoza was involved in a high-speed crash in Illinois after driving under the influence. Police said she ran a red light and struck another vehicle, k*lling two people: 43-year-old Paul Prowant and 55-year-old Andrea Rosewicz. Her blood alcohol level was later reported to be nearly twice the legal limit. Bodycam and hospital footage captured the moment officers informed Melgoza that the two victims had died. In the video, she appears distraught and repeatedly asks about what happened as the reality of the situation sets in. The footage was later used in court proceedings. In October 2021, Melgoza pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated DUI resulting in d*ath. In April 2023, she was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
