i wasnt scared of birth because my thought was ‘well its happening whether i like it or not so theres no point being scared’ but your body just takes over and does what it needs to do

Pregnancy is worse that newborn tired. I’ve done it twice, not saying sleep deprivation doesn’t get to you but pregnancy tired is a hard!!

These are all normal & validd! But with birth it’s definitely scary not knowing but it passes by so quickly😭 idk if that makes sense! You start contracting & before you know it baby is here. You got this!💘💘

I was not scared of birth and was chilled throughout my entire pregnancy and postpartum. I was not expecting anything. I was not imagining how things will go. Was not thinking about it. I was fully open to anything. I had preferences, but was ready to make other decisions based on situation happening at the time. I had one rule … 👇

The sleep deprivation is ROUGH, but you just do it. I can’t explain how; I’ve done it twice and I can’t tell you how. You just do. And it is OK ❤️

I 1000% recommend reading the book “ make your birth better” . I read it expecting my first baby at 21. It changed my mindset genuinely helped in labor and it gave me a realistic understanding as to what actually happens

I was never scared or worried, not even when I was in labour. My mindset was that baby has to come some how and its what our bodies are built for. The calmer you stay during labour the better too and I had such an amazing labour and delivery ❤️also this may help or not, it did with me but I watched a lot of one born every minute and it just gives you a sense of peace watching other women go through it ❤️

I honestly do not remember the first 3-6 months of my sons life I think it was hard for me to accept the new way of life. But I'm thankful for myself for taking so many pictures to look back on! please please take photos even if you feel down, best thing I did! I'm not pregnant with my 2nd and can't wait to soak it all up with a newborn

you have to think of it like "birth has to happen either way. and at the end you get your beautiful baby to enjoy" and that way it makes you not scared

I was so scared for birth I asked for an elective c section and it was such an amazing experience I’m glad I didn’t give birth naturally lol. It was so chill, they played music for me. Recovery wasn’t bad at all, day 5 I was fully walking around with no problems. I will 100% do it again. No regrets! 😁

As a sleepy gal, the sleep deprivation also was a worry for me but it’s crazy how much you just adapt! And the middle of the night tasks I just bring everything to the room with me so I don’t have to actually leave which in my head means I’m not properly waking up

The trouble is everyone is different and every baby is different, so nobody’s experience will be the same as yours. I think what I can safely say is there will be parts you find hard, but when you see your baby for the first time, when they first smile at you or look for you when they’re not in your arms, those memories will stay with you forever because it is amazing to be someone’s entire world 💖

My son is 11 now but labour was something I wasn't concerned about when pregnant. My mindset/thought process was that I wanted the baby, he has to come out so just get on with it. Also, women have been giving birth for thousands of years and it's something our bodies are made for, it we weren't meant to do it we wouldn't be able to. I had a water birth which was amazing, it was so calm and relaxed.
In terms of sleep...my boy didn't sleep through for 2 years. Your body honestly just adjusts, yes you're exhausted but you just do it. Coffee and red bull were my best friends!

It all depends on your child. I had a very easy child and so none of these fears were really that bad. But then I hear other mothers talk about their baby being very different to mine and their experience was very different.

If you’re not against epidurals, I’d look into getting one as it was amazing - I was so chill, I was cracking jokes right up until I pushed and was having naps. Pushing was a bit dodgy as I couldn’t feel much but it meant I could focus on her when she came out 🥰
