Family reminder to Jon fans. From the perspective of Westerosi orthodoxy, the Crown, and the Faith of the Seven, Jon Snow would still be Rhaegar's bastard had he eloped with Lyanna; Aerys would never have approved of an annulment or a double marriage [Rhaegar was with Elia, had two children, and bigamy was no longer commonplace as it had been in the days of Aegon and his sisters; it was once a Valyrian practice, not a Westerosi one]. It was an exception tolerated by the Faith, based on the dragons, after the promulgation of the Doctrine of Exceptionalism in 50 AC, which permitted incest, but not multiple marriages. In the Mad King's Westeros in 282 AC, polygamy was unthinkable. Therefore, even if he had married again, perhaps on the Isle of Faces and under some northern rite, it would be a void marriage; irrelevant. The crown prince is governed by the religion of the court in the south, not by the customs of a mistress. Such a union would have no validity, and it doesn't have to be. What septon would secretly marry the heir to the throne without relevant witnesses or the monarch's approval? [Neither maesters nor, much less, septons would condone adultery according to the Faith of the Seven; the Mad King even less so, since, yes, that "love" would destroy the alliance with Dorne and the Martells]. So yup, he isn’t a trueborn dragon like the Mother of Dragons. If you learn to read, I assure y’all guys will enjoy the books.
