No being a sahm in itself is not hard. Playing with my kids. Cooking. Cleaning. Etc ON ITS OWN is not hard. But add on the toll of the mental responsibility. The default parent. The personal mental health issues. The school activities. Out of school activities. Planning everything. And running everything solely THAT is when it’s hard. If I could JUST be a mom. It would be the best easiest choice ever. Add on everything else and yes.. it is the hardest job in the world.

The mental and emotional load is huge!!! We carry every emotion of our kids when they cry, when they scream with joy- we go on the rollercoaster WITH THEM. I’m tired just typing this 😩

It is hard. I used to be an outdoor pest control technician in 100* heat in Florida. 10 hours a day. Pulling that hose, spraying those lawns and shrubs. It was easier than many days of a SAHM. This entire discussion is insane. There are SO many variable. SAHM of one 10 year old who goes to school is very different than a pregnant SAHM of 5, 5 and under who don’t go to preschool or kindergarten or a SAHM of 10 homeschooling kids. It’s a seriously nuanced conversation.

Don’t get riled up by some guy on the internet that most the people u know won’t even see. All that matters is if u and your spouse are on the same page. I’ve been a Sahm for 28 years. Have never felt the need to defend what I do because my husband and kids love what I do.

When I was on maternity leave I was chomping at the bit to work in the yard when my husband got home to be outside by myself for a bit. I love doing yard work and gardening, I’ll do everything myself including relocating small trees and shrubs with heavy root-balls…so I “landscaper” was my calming retreat from being a sahm. 😉

That man SMH 🤦♀️Tell me you haven't raised small humans to potentially be really good big humans without telling me 🙄 I'm a mom of 7, bonus mom to 2. I was a SAHM for 17 years. I now work a very physically demanding job in 10 hour shifts. Being a SAHM is much harder, especially mentally and emotionally.
