I won't lie, the main issue for me is a sensory one - so many lotions leave my skin feeling greasy and like there's a film on it and I can't stand it. it's been a lot of trial and error to find the right one for me

I can't stand that dry, tight feeling your skin gets when it's dried out. I honestly don't understand how anybody could just cope with that feeling longer than even minutes really!?!?

I had chicken skin looking upper arms for DECADES and thought that was just my skin then I started using lotion on my arms and my skin was so much better

It's important to mention that some people grow up with families who may have experienced poverty and lotion like many other hygiene products were just not a priority on the grocery/household list unfortunately

Yeah also common in white households. I never saw a bottle of lotion in my childhood home. It wasn’t until well into adulthood when I met my partner that I finally got introduced to basic care. Don’t even get me started on chapstick. So many basic self care needs were never addressed until my twenties
