This was UPS’s maintenance fault. Boeing came out with a service recommendation of replacing these pylon bearings and UPS chose not to, FedEx did.

For everyone that doesn’t have any brain cells. Boeing doesn’t have anything to do with this the aircraft N259UP is 34 years old (1992) and Boeing merged with MD in 97’ so therefore it was constructed by MD. Boeing had nothing to do with maintenance as mentioned or the engines. Therefore Boeing is not guilty for anything.

She’s suing Boeing because they admitted it’s a flaw and a critical fault in the engine mount pylon, specifically a "spherical bearing race" in the aft mount. This part is prone to fatigue cracking, which can lead to the engine separating from the wing. The maintenance crew failed to spot the fatigue so they are at fault aswell.
