Yall should watch the podcast the producers stated they changed it because they originally wanted a mystery about who it was in the show but it was already revealed in the books so they had to reveal it because people would’ve just looked it up. Now with this change it would be anonymous which is perfect. Also understand that in the books it was revealed that Penelope was lady whistledown in book 4 which was her book but they switched it with season 3 instead. But Penelope stops writing in her book after she was revealed as LW and starts writing novels anyways so the change is definitely welcomed.
