Good god this kind of behavior is exhausting. Whenever I would have these kinds of people, I would just choose not to engage at all unless the nurse was asking me questions about the patient. Like they couldn’t claim that I wasn’t engaging them, but if they were being rude to me and asking me questions that didn’t relate to what we were doing there was no reason for me to respond.

How did you handle this? Obviously you want to be like get bent. But, I know to an extent you just ignore and if it was ever a patient effecting thing I would speak up. Thanks for your honesty I’m getting ready to apply for next year and I really enjoy your perspective.

when I was orienting to the OR as a circulator on a particular day, the scrub tech asked me if it was my rm. I explained I was setting up early before my preceptor got there. He said, "oh good, I'd want to cry if you were nurse" 🥲

I would’ve totally reported them for distracting you with nonsense you have nothing to do with and that was definitely impacting patient safety.
