My boyfriend's a combat veteran who struggles with mental health and alcoholism. The lack of resources for them after the sacrifices these men and women have made and trauma it's caused is mind-blowing. So frustrating. I worry about his well-being everyday.

One of our good friends is a retired Marine and he has depression and ptsd and the VA is absolutely NO HELP!!!!

I worked in mental health and interacted with the VA for clients who were veterans. It is RIDICULOUS how inefficient and unhelpful they are. It’s just a bureaucratic nightmare.

Yes! That dumb crisis number on every single thing I get in the mail from the VA. Pretty much they say we thank your husband for his service but F off… and oh if you are having any mental health issues call this number

No I’m actually really happy you’re bringing this up. My sister committed suicide but couldn’t get help while she was alive without worrying about a cost. When you’re grieving a loss, they have free counseling and all kinds of resources. I remember calling offices to try to get her help and no one could really point me in the right direction and to become a patient at a doctors office was booked out for 4 months because Myrtle beach is and was growing like crazy.
