This! I got a large pad of watercolor paper, but it was so overwhelming I didn’t paint for a while. So, I decided to get a bunch of 4x6 pads. Painted everyday.

small sketchbooks are awesome but every art teacher I've ever had encourages beginners to use larger spaces. yes smaller canvas allows you to finish more quickly, but not necessarily best way to learn. suppose anyone should explore. maybe get both??

Truee!!! I cut al my watercolor paper in half. And they were envelope sized 😩 it helped me a lot! It fits in the palm of my hand and takes 2 hours. I dont lose my joy, i dont use my focus and i practise my motorskills way better! I just follow youtube vids and enjoy all of it

I agree with this so much! I have been having a hard time drawing but recently I got a smaller sketchbook and I have been so much more consistent.
