Schools don't provide essential materials to teachers, they don't keep the schools up, they don't pay the teachers what they deserve...So where exactly is all this money going???

As an early literacy tutor, we are already short staffed, underpaid, and have little to no time yo work with kids who are already behind grade level. 5th graders are at a 3rd grade level across the district, not just my school. As an ELT, am I afraid of losing my job? Yes.

They’ve been trying to consolidate schools that are at 30-40% capacity for YEARS in order to prevent a mass layoff event like this, and teachers would strike then too. You can’t fully staff empty schools indefinitely. It’s going to come to a harsh decision like this the further they kick the can down the road.
