But then how and when do you hold them responsible for their actions? Are they learning to get away with things? I don’t think it’s productive to get into an argument with them however, I do think they need to be held accountable. No one said this was gonna be so hard!

My teenage son just shuts down. It is so hard when he is in that space and won't talk to me. If it is anger that is how he shows it. Never yells or is disrespectful really, just shuts me out.

literally just went through this with my son 3 minutes ago. I told him he needs to control his anger, I understand everyone has their own methods, but I hug my son everyday, I tell him and my daughter I love them and give them a hug and kiss each night, I play basketball with him outside often, and I have talks with him alot. I do give him space when he gets like this but I let him know what he needs to do to get through it. I tell him when he's making mistakes or going too far with something small(I know its hormones) and he listens. I don't know about the rest of the parents out there but the key to mine and my son's relationship is open communication and being present for those moments that matter. ❤️As a father its our job to guide our kids through these hormones and teach them control and how to understand those feelings a little more.
