And what if it is? What then? What if it is a cope mechanism? Isn't the whole human built to cope? Since the beginning we are trying to find a way to cope with what we can't understand. With religions. Yet in the end nothing matters. You can't even prove anything more than your consciousness. You are just a bunch of cells clumped together that agreed to survive and procreate to share the genetic material to the next generation. The only way to extend the proof of your existence, and even maybe the only meaning why you were created in the first place. But once those genes are finally flushed down in the generations coming, the only thing proving your existence will be a few molecules some tree absorbed out of your rotting corpse at best. Nothing matters in the end. Nothing. in 5 years people will forget your voice. In 30 how your face looked and the next generation will probably not even care about your existence. Every achievement you've made will be forgotten. Not even history books will remember you in a million years. So tell me why we shouldn't cope, if it's the only thing we can do to not go crazy. Isn't making peace with this absurd world cope too? Isn't the only thing we can really do cope?
