John was in love with himself. That’s the truth. He was careless with everyone’s time and thought about himself. He was America’s DARLING and his mother worshiped him. He could do no wrong. It’s not that he didn’t love her, it’s that he didn’t know how to actually love her. They were not a fairytale or something to be romanticized. I’m not saying he didn’t love her but this is a tv show. The show does a good job trying to show who they were but we have no idea about their love or their private life. I think he was trying to make his way in life and yes they fell in love and had a challenging time just getting to the alter. Nothing could change who his bloodline was and I think for sure created trouble in their marriage. It’s sad not knowing the life they could of had. The story is just so sad, never knowing what could have been for them.😥

It’s so weird to me that everyone’s like this was so toxic. He was so obsessed with himself. Like are y’all forgetting? This is a real man and who his parents actually were. I think people need to understand the example that was set for him. Of course he was gonna be exactly who he was. I think that’s the more fascinating story.
