@nepalinreel: The District Administration Office Kathmandu has announced strict restrictions for this year’s Holi celebrations in Kathmandu. According to Assistant Chief District Officer Muktiram Rijal, organizing street gatherings, fairs, festivals, stage programs, and musical concerts in public places has been prohibited. The decision has been taken keeping election security and the election code of conduct in mind. The administration has also warned against selling and consuming alcohol in public during Holi. Importantly, wearing clothes or accessories displaying election symbols, party flags, candidate images, logos, or stickers is strictly banned. This includes T-shirts, caps, jackets, masks, badges, and even bags featuring election content. Authorities fear that Holi celebrations could be misused as a platform for election campaigning. Additionally, the administration has stressed that no one should forcibly apply colors or throw water balloons against someone’s will. The move aims to ensure a safe, respectful, and disciplined Holi celebration in the capital.
