So right. Many people today don’t get the historic ancient context. I was doing a study of the wheat & the fares and it has a lot to do with understanding the times, the deeper meaning behind it.

In ancient times, particularly in the Near East, salt was used as a catalyst (fuel) to help 🔥burn dried animal dung for fuel, as wood was scarce. Plates of salt were placed in ovens, where the mineral helped ignite the dung, though over time, the salt would become "unsalty" or inert.
