Double Donor baby is when you do ivf for both the egg and sperm so genetically it’s not yours but you carry the baby and it is your baby just not made a your dna egg/sperm I was confused too

My daughter is a double donor baby! Crazy thing is people are shocked when I tell them because she looks exactly like my husband and me. If I still had my tubes, I would absolutely do a DNA test.

We donated our embryos and now I’m great friends with the adoptive mom. She has our daughter’s siblings and we can’t wait to all meet this summer! We feel like fairy godparents and my kiddo loves being a big sister and buying them presents.

I don’t understand how this is confusing. It’s totally different from adoption in the fact that you have a totally different relationship and connection. You feel the kicks, the get the cravings, you feel the mood changes, hormones, emotions, etc. All of that makes a super strong bond between mom and baby. Adoption is beautiful and you can have an amazing connection with your baby, but it’s a different type of connection vs physically feeling all of that.

My husband and his brothers are egg donor babies! All harvested at the same time from the same donor. My husband came in 1993 and his twin brothers came in 1995 😌

I'm scheduled for a transfer of a double donor embryo in October!! you give me so much hope and help normalize something that is hard to explain, and people scratch their heads to when I try to explain. so happy for you!
