Police say a $5 million fraud may have been the motive behind the deadly shooting of two brothers inside their Boynton Beach, Florida, office. On January 12, 2026, investigators say 39-year-old Nesar Dawla shot and killed Charles Geragi, 67, and his brother Richard, 72. A witness reported seeing Dawla run to a white Cadillac SUV and drive away after the shooting. He was found a few miles away, and after a brief police chase, Dawla took his own life inside the vehicle. Police say the shooting is tied to a massive fraud involving Dawla’s brother, Sadman Dawla, a former employee of the Geragi brothers. Sadman is currently in prison after admitting to stealing more than $5 million by writing himself hundreds of unauthorized checks. Court records show he said he’s a compulsive gambler and lost much of the money. Investigators say Nesar met with the Geragi brothers to discuss recovering the stolen funds. While he was never charged, police believe he may have also been involved in his brother's fraud scheme. Sadman is currently serving eight years in prison, to be followed by ten years of probation. #truecrime #scamsandschemes #murder
