Having basic surfing etiquette is more important. If you're a good surfer and want to surf at some of the more famous spots, you definitely are entitled to surf there just as much as some local.

I’ve met some locals. They regretted meeting sometimes. I regretted meeting them sometimes. I prefer beaches that have a peaceful atmosphere

It’s all about etiquette. If you’re new to a spot, just be cool. Say what’s up guys in the lineup, throw a shaka or two and be polite. Don’t come out and think you run the spot..that’s how you end up on the beach with fat lips!🤙🏼😂😂

the way I see it is locals> non locals until the non local proves he knows what he's doing then I see him on the same level as me and other locals but that's just how I see it
