I always paid. It was just what a gentleman did. I would feel hurt if a lady insisted on paying or even paying the tip. That would be insulting/emasculating. Let me be a gentleman and you be a lady. It’s not a big deal.

Yes I said of course we can split it. He became a friend the moment he said that. He then said let’s go for gelato, I was like no thank you I’m full. It wasn’t the money it’s the fact he invited me on this date.
