@contemporary100: Photographs by Eric Kogan [2010s onwards] Eric Kogan’s street photographs observe everyday life in New York City through moments of alignment, timing, and perspective. Working over the past decade and into 2025, he documents interactions between light, architecture, weather, animals, and passersby. From clouds seeming to perch on wires to shadows growing from empty planters and spontaneous alignments with people and objects, his images register fleeting configurations within the city’s geometry. Made while walking the streets, the images focus on chance encounters and visual relationships found in public space. Kogan’s ongoing body of work centers on observation, timing, and the shifting details of urban life.
