Sounds awful … but I think I was a better parent as a single mum. I love my partner and we’ve now had a third. But I know deep down my oldest 2 got the best version of me when I was a single mum.

This made me cry.. my children tell me I'm so different now, I don't shout and get upset all the time, I'm not constantly cleaning as everything had to be perfect. We hang out together all the time now xx

I think it needs to be more wildly accepted that you’re not “breaking” a family by getting a divorce, and you’re not “failing” as an individual. People change, and sometimes not together. Being able to admit when it’s time to leave for the best interests of your children is the smartest, safest and loving thing you can do. It is not a failure. And it should be accepted more. Some people just don’t fit together. You don’t need to fight it out for years to prove “you can do it”.
