The external light is for visualizing where you’re going to center easier since it’s further out. Once you’ve centered there’s a button that will move the table so that the centering moves from the external to the internal light position and will zero out the table at the same time. Useful if you can’t see the internal light in some situations

neither makes a difference on the scout as long as u use the correct button to zero. I've seen both seimens and ge optima with just the one light. for claustrophobic patients that outside light is my friend to keep them outside the scanner as much as possible. Sadly not all scanners have a retract button while u plan the scan

With Minfound the inner light is centered at zero but if you use the outer light, you Centre at 245🙏🏾

u can use either one lol just push the right button on the scanner to correlate. why the hel there are 2 centering points I have NO idea

Ummm… 😳 Maybe, does it change by manufacturer? The reason I say this, 0 is 0 inside light outside light doesn’t change. GE, Siemens I know this to be true.

If you choose outside light can’t you just use the outside centering button and protocol adjust accordingly? I feel like you can with GE
