When I first watch alien stage I feel attached to Hyuna and Luka’s ship, because it’s so similar to Thalia and Luke. Both ship lives with the quote “To love is to forgive, not to forget.”. Thalia and Hyuna both yearn to be reunited with their lover yet they never forget nor forgive the thing their lover did, which cause an unhealthy clash to their relationship. And while cut to Luka and Luke, they both turned manipulative to survive the system that metaphorically killed their lover. And in titan curse, percy jackson, Luke half-begged in desperation for Thalia to leave the system that killed him by taking her away, but that Thalia wasn’t the same Thalia who cursed at the gods with him. This Thalia has a family, friends there now. Same applies to Luka and Hyuna, Luka has found a way to survive but Hyuna has found a way to escape. Back to the quote “to love is to forgive, not to forget” all of them never forget a thing their lover did which it’s correct but they didn’t even forgive since Luke hurt Annabeth who is counted as Thalia’s sibling at that point same with Hyunwoo and Hyuna. That’s why the last quote from Hyuna “live with love,” could works for Luke to Thalia, since now after their lover’s death Thalia and Luka can only define the word love with the face of their lover, that’s their only true love, other are just people they tried and tried to fill in the gap with. Luke and Luka would burn the world for the people they love but they forgot that the person they love is also in the world. Think of waiting room by Phoebe Bridgers, “If you were a waiting room, I would never see a doctor I would sit there with my first-aid kit and bleed”. And the system in this case for Thalia and Luke is the gods and their unjustness, while their old ‘place’ is the road. I feel evil in a good way writing this but anyway I love to torture ppl with sadness and angst but who cares why be a hero when you can be a super villain.
