Don’t teach children that secrets are fun and cool. The only thing that is secretive is one’s privacy. Don’t teach them “we’re gonna do this sneaky thing but don’t tell your parents”. Kids should be taught secrets are not OK but privacy is. Secrets can lead to adults being unsafe with kids and the kids feeling like they can’t talk about it because it’s a secret.

Why are people mad about this?? I’m the youngest cousin, my older cousins always did this to me & said “don’t tell your parents”. And I turned out fine, these kind of secrets it’s ok to keep as a secret because it’s a fun thing.
