@courtney.presto: Kesha did something truly brilliant with BOTH versions of her album covers. Before: She used colors that traditionally mean “vulnerability & openness” but used them to communicate she feels TRAPPED; she CANT be vulnerable, even tho she wants to. After: She used colors that mean “freedom, reclamation, and ownership”. Literally she INVERTED the colors mathematically and then painted over them with freedom. Genuinely genius. BOTH covers speak to this album’s evolution. both covers are perfectly executed. We actually NEED both to get the full story. Wow. i’ve never seen something this cool before. Sorry, can you tell i’m a massive Kesha stan??? What do you think? Which artist should I do next?

M M :

i loved the original Gag Order cover

possumidk :

The pink filter takes away from what made the original cover so impactful :/ It also just makes it harder to see what the cover is.

Demi :

Also, her renaming the album is powerful as well. She wanted to name is Eat The Acid from the beginning but the label didn’t let her, so once she was free she changed it to the one SHE wanted. Additionally, it’s symbolic that her “gag order” has been lifted.

I lowkey loved the og cover so I’m a little sad about it but go off Kesha queen

XM :

maybe because Kesha wants no ties to her producer omg

HusseiNova :

The old cover and title are her being trapped. The new is her being free, awakening her spirit.

_unprdctv :

The original is far better conceptually and in execution.

Stam Narsh :

curious if you listen to Mitski at all? This is my take on her new album cover ^^

this album is a masterpiece

★ :

The og cover is my favorite album cover ever, at first i didn’t liked the change she did but now i see it and tbh, listening the album with the new cover even feels like hearing a diferent album. The original cover is sad and dark and the new one with those very intense colors feels like she broke from that darkness and that she no longer feels like that. Idk, loved your analysis!

AM$ :

La portada de Gag Order era arte en su original. Me gustan los colores de Eat The Acid pero la verdad le quita incluso el querer escuchar el álbum 😭
