This is exactly where I am. I was raised and have lived all my life as a Christian religious good girl. Was married with kids. Just coming out to myself a few months back. My love for God hasn’t changed one bit, but accepting my lesbian sexuality triggers guilt.

Guilt seems to be the common emotion among Church members for just about any reason. One of my coworkers feels guilty about disliking her Church job, my cousin feels guilty for missing Church every other Sunday due to her work schedule, and my other cousin feels guilty for not being a stay at home mom. It seems the smallest deviation from the standard expectation creates feelings of guilt.
