"If one more person calls me resilient, I'm sending them the bill." (laugh)😅 People mean well, but "you're so strong" can quietly mean "so you don't need help.""Real talk: if you see me struggling and you don't step in, don't call it resilience. Call it what it is. I'm doing it alone. Strong people need help too. Sometimes the kindest thing isn't 'you're so strong.' It's 'what can I take off your plate?'" so when they say "you're so resilient," I smile and nod. 😅 Here's the part they don't see: I'm usually saying it with cold coffee in my hand, a resident calling my name, and a to-do list that reset itself while I slept. Resilient sounds glamorous. Most days it looks like getting up because the morning shift doesn't start itself. I chose caregiving. I did not choose every hard season that came with it. 😂 So yes, I'm resilient. Plan Z, but it's working. 💜 Strong people still need help. We just don't always ask out loud. So if you see a caregiver carrying too much, don't clap for her strength. Grab a bag. Bring the coffee. Sit with the resident for 20 minutes so she can breathe. Bouncing back because bills don't pause isn't the same as being okay. "Being resilient doesn't mean you're fine. You can be strong and still need someone to step in." "Caregivers, what's the 'compliment' you hear that makes you laugh a little inside? Drop it below 👇 and tag a caregiver who's been on Plan Z for years. 💜" #HealingForCaregivers #FollowMeAcrossTheBridge #caregiverlife #caregiverhumor #caregiversupport
