@kevinmccarthytv: Matthew Lillard talks about seminal theatrical experiences and memories. What’s a pivotal theatrical experience, for a film, that you’ve had in your life? #matthewlillard #slcpunk #blairwitchproject #aliens #cinema @Matthew lillard
Saw BWP in 1999 - I was 20 and pregnant and I was convinced it was real, everyone still thought it was, and we lived near Burkittsville. AND my first movie was Aliens with my mom - double feature with The Fly 😳 I was five

I saw in movie theater and was convinced it was real too. The lights in the theater never came on after the movie was over, which just added to the creep factor.

Dead Poets Society ripped my heart out in the best way in the theatre. I’ll never forget the scene that took me from bawling my eyes out to laughing out loud.

I saw it in the theater and thought it was real. Thinking about the scene on the stairway still gives me goosebumps.

The first movie I remember seeing in theaters was the ring. My dad was the electrician for a new movie theater and before they opened to the public they did a test run and invited everyone involved in the making of the theater. My dad took my younger siblings to watch the new veggie tales and let my older sister and I go watch the ring. We were 11 and 13 and we were the only ones in the entire room. That was a terrifying and amazing experience. Now that my sister is gone it's one of my most cherished memories.

The marketing was the most genius thing about that movie, besides having an actual sound person in the movie, one of the only FF with that. Every week getting closer to the premiere, they released a new journal page on the website to build the lore.

I watched Blair Witch the day of returning home from a 2 week backpack camping trip where we hiked 8 miles up the mountain. We played in the woods at night and all. Needless to say after that movie, we no longer played in the woods at night on our camping trips.

I first sawr it at a drive in with a bunch of other horror flicks out at the time. Then, we had to drive through pitch black area with woods right up next to the road. I wont lie, my imagination was in full gear on that ride home.

Scream scared the puke out of me, literally. At 9 years old I was so scared I threw up, and I was terrified for a long time.
