It’s because the summers are dry there. You’re used to humid summers which are the ones that kill us. (Canada here) Winters however in Portugal are humid which is why it feels so cold inside.

It’s true, Portugal is pretty gentle climate-wise. But up at 1000m it hits differently 😅 We’ll have fog and cold wind, and five minutes away people are sitting in the sun like it’s a different country

It’s where you are… try going to Alentejo during summer peak if you miss really hot days… and going to the deep interior of the north if you want to feel real cold. (I’m in Lisbon, I am safe 😂)

I’m curious how I’ll handle PT weather. I’m a native New Mexican, never lived in anywhere else, though I’ve lived in different parts of the state. It’s hot and dry here and winters are mild for the most part. This has been the mildest winter by far! This last week has been in the upper 70s and 80s 😳 I’m worried about the humidity 😂
