I dislike the movie Hoppers—the trailer already seemed too forced to make it funny, and unfortunately, the actual film doesn’t improve on that first impression. From the start, it feels like the movie is trying way too hard to get laughs instead of letting humor come naturally. The jokes come off as loud and exaggerated rather than clever, which makes the experience more tiring than entertaining. As the movie goes on, it becomes clear that it relies heavily on chaos instead of real comedy. Characters are constantly yelling, overreacting, and getting thrown into random situations that are supposed to be funny, but they just feel overwhelming. Instead of building up meaningful jokes, the film throws everything at the audience at once, which quickly becomes annoying. Another big issue is the characters themselves. They don’t feel naturally funny or relatable—instead, they seem like they were created just to deliver punchlines that don’t land. A lot of the humor feels predictable or overly childish, which makes it hard to connect with them. Rather than enjoying their personalities, it often feels like you’re just waiting for the next forced joke to end. The pacing also hurts the movie a lot. Hoppers rushes from one joke to the next without giving anything time to breathe. Good comedy needs timing and buildup, but here everything feels rushed and unfinished. Because of this, even moments that could have been funny end up falling flat. Overall, Hoppers is a disappointing comedy that tries too hard to be funny and ends up being more annoying than enjoyable. While it clearly aims for energy and humor, it misses what actually makes people laugh, leaving the movie feeling forced and exhausting instead of fun.
