I just showed this to my husband and said that's got to be out by the McDonald's observatory! and then I saw the Davis mountains. born and raised in Texas and didn't know anything about that part of the world until I was 58. one of my all-time favorite places. I would retire there if my house wasn't mortgage free and my property taxes Frozen at a hundred a year🤣🤣🤣

Been there, done that and would do again numerous times! The McDonald Observatory is a must for star gazing party, too!! Absolutely pristine and gorgeous area! 😍

Our 22 year old son moved to Dallas not long ago for his job. We want to fly into DFW and see him go a few days and then do a road trip like this. How far is this from Dallas? Is there another part we should explore closer and save this for later? We are from Ky and are horse people that love the open sky.

Huge state - Texas is like 5 states in one - North Texas, South Texas, East Texas, West Texas, and Central Texas Each area has its own scenery and attractions but El Paso (West).to Texarkana (East) is farther than Texarkana to Chicago. Scrawled on a train boxcar was found this message: "The sun has risen, the sun has set, but here I am in Texas yet."
