this is actually crazy because when you mentioned that people may not listen to music but scroll through social media that involves music, I got reminded of myself. I always considered myself to sin less than others who listen to music as I'm not someone very involved with the music industry. infact, I made a promise with Allah that I will try not to listen music at all this Ramadan. but I find myself scrolling through TikTok constantly, just proving how addicted to music I actually am – when I believe I'm not.

I think that moral liscensing, would help a person choose what course of action to take, since we can’t have it all and do everything because we have limited time and energy. BUT at the same time, it’s meaningful only when used for yourself and to give direction to your life/day. NOT to judge others or compare yourselves to them. Arrogance arises from applying your moral standpoints to other people, not realising our morals are a byproduct of our beliefs which themselves are heavily influenced by experiences. If I chose a course of action, ofcourse I am choosing it because I think it’s the “better” thing to do, but that’s starting point is in itself different for everyone. So, in a nutshell I do think arrogance is a misuse of moral liscensing? It shifts the focus point to the outside world, in a way that’s very unstable and likely to produce not-so pleasant outcomes
