do the second one if you are young. on an older face, it will drag down giving an illusion of sagging face. do the first one if you are older, esp if you need the volume and a higher placement gives an illusion of lifting.

Indeed that placement is good for your face shape, it is sculpting in a more flattering way. even tho there are no strict rules, we do what we prefer. Rounded endereye blush is good for low cheek volume and elders, lifting blush for narrowed center face or oval, straight horizontal for squared and long faces etc etc
