It doesn’t depend on generations. It’s all how you feel inside, the pride, and representation.

I don't see why there would be a limit. My great grandparents came to the US from Sicily over 100 years ago but I still consider myself to be Italian American, not just American.

A point of view to consider… I’m “Mexican-American” with US citizenship. I had a baby born in Vietnam because I’m currently living here. My baby is not considered Vietnamese at all. He’s not allowed to get citizenship here 🤔 he has US Citizenship

I’m 25th + Generation Native American and Fourth Gen Mexican American /Californian. I will never ever lose my cultural ties and become just “American” because my people have survived colonization for over 500+ years .

when we stop teaching our children our cultures traditions. Its important to learn everything we can from our grandparents, aunts&uncles and parents as long as we have them so that we may continue to teach the next generation.

Parents are both Mexican from Mexico, I’m Mexican. I grew up with their culture and ways even though I live in the US. My future children will always be Mexican, but as those generations goes we considered “ Mexican American “ typically the grandchildren and their kids as they grew up with more of the American culture but still know a few of the Mexican side

Just be…don’t try to define it…for the more you try to define something the further you move away from its essence…
