UN should have been consulted before period. This is not how things are done. I think he just put off the US looking at us to give him time but I also think that his statement does not show strength. Israel has the right to defend itslef but they have an active genocide going on in Gaza why isn't the one we will arrest but can fly over our skies not being taken out.

Israel isn't defending itself. Israel is the instigator. My people are out there dying. I'm worried for friends and family, I have a dad who is elderly and suffering watching the Israelis attack his people. During a holy month of all times!!! I'm disgusted by my prime minister. As a first gen Canadian, I've never fully felt whole here. I've seen Israel reduce Palestine to rubble and place Palestinians in concentration camps. So I'd love to know PM Carney, you support Israel's right to defend what exactly?

I agree with some of what Carney said and somehow I don’t. Israel is right to defend themselves considering in this instance it was the US and Israel that fired first it’s a random defending themselves countries that were saying it’s justified because of how the Iranian people are being treated by the regime is irrelevant what is going on internally in a run is for the Iranian people to solve not for outside powers. As horrific as it is, it is not a case of Iran invading another country or another country invading Iran it is within and they are in the state. They are in as an effect of the US interfering back in the 50s to install the shop 79 was a revolt against that and now this let the Iranian people solve it as for the nuclear question I do agree that we need diplomatic solutions here prior to 2016. We were at least had a basic framework of a negotiated agreement with a run and to not Weaponized their nuclear materials that was Trump that pulled them out. We need to get back to that so I see these is two separate issues the nuclear question the Iranian regime to be solved by the Iranian people, and then sadly Israel’s continued aggression toward Arabic nations. Canada needs to shut their consulates and embassies in a run and get the Canadian people out and then step the hell back we can’t go toe to toe against the US.

I don’t expect us to go against the US, but I am not happy that he supports the attacks. He could have easily said Canada wants a peaceful swift resolution to the conflict without supporting either side, gods know politicians are great at saying nothing in long winded speeches.

Well, the way I see it, is that PM Carney has his 5 Eyes Security Info that we don't have access to. I trust him. We are a humanitarian country & this is what I'm most proud of. The Iranian govt is hedeous to its people. He isn't black & white. He operates in the grey zone where we can agree to a degree with the US. We are still trading partners & close neighbours.The PM is a very intelligent & worldly man. He has us. We're good.

I haven't seen the full speech so I don't know what he said. but it seems like people have forgotten already about the problem of a NATO nation attacking another NATO nation even though that conversation was only a month ago. I am not saying that there's nothing we can do. I've had very mixed thoughts as news comes through. Very angry that the u.s. got into it with another country but then saw part of Carney's statement and thought there's something I'm missing for him to support these actions.
