I was 6 and I got to meet Andre at an airport. He got out of a limousine, took him a bit to get out. He stood up and I remember looking straight up and he reached out to grab me hand and he ended up shaking my entire forearm in his hand 😳 Hand to elbow! 😂😂 I was speechless. He was kind gentle and gave a lot of his time to lur family. Cpuldnt have been a better meeting. .

My stepdad was a security guard at the stadium they held WWF events at regularly. When Andre came there was 6 of us kids there all excited to meet him. He was such a gentle giant. We all got turns sitting on his shoulder. He wrestled with us on in the ring letting us all pile up on him. It was so much fun. I still have his action figure that he signed.

My sister's husband grew up in the same French village and Andre. He said Andre would carry kids around on his shoulders.

Andre the Giant was a huge fan favorite in Quebec. Cause he would come and make his promos in French. Back in the day, with the WWF, we would have the promos and the skits in french. We had our own announcers and they'd interview Macho Man or Hulk Hogan or whatever, and then the announcer would translate to us in french. But Andre would come and do it straight in french and we would lap it up. His name up here was "Le Géant Ferré". So many memories.
