In the US we have those swings but the leg holes are on both sides. So I think you are supposed to use the holes for the legs.

Turn him the other way. The chain can be uncomfortable on his back. But that works too.

It’s for kids learning how to swing, so chain is in front but for a toddler chain in the back, as long as they can hold themselves up
