it genuinely saddens me when people are against betas too 😭 bc if you think about it, they are the ones who don’t fit the “binary” of alphas and omegas, they can like alphas and/or omegas, they also don’t have that “drive” to mate so they tend to remind of people who are nonbinary, multisexual or in the aro-ace spectrum; although in most fics, manwhas and what not, they’re just “the norm” they’re still neglected and are never really used in stories as people with unique experiences and relationships. It doesn’t make it better when a beta is a main character, but there’s the constant trope of turning them into an omega. It makes it seem like betas are only acceptable as partners once they’re changed and now fit the “standard”

been reading a fic where an omega at first pretends to be an alpha so he can enter the military, but then it gets kinda out of control I think and he ends up being a public figure kinda and has to keep pretending to be an alpha, and it becomes a whole commentary on misogyny (for omegas), societal expectations (for alphas and omegas), and the omega starts learning to accept that being an omega it's not a bad thing and idk what else im out of words,, it's just so peak 😭
