Even service dogs need corrections at times. You’re talking yours through the encounter. The reality is that for service dogs to be accessible to everyone who needs them there aren’t heavy requirements (testing, training certifications) this means there will always be a range of skillsets and it opens the door to fraud.

I fly with my dog, non service animal, and she stays in her carrier. I wouldn't want my dog to get stressed or bother a service dog.

i get embarrassed when my 7 month old barks in pet supplies plus even though all the workers know her by name or when she tries to pull to a person i would be crying if that happened 🥹

I wish they would at least require a canine good citizen certificate for service dogs. A true service animal should be able to pass the course with flying colors and would help prevent these incidents. I have an ESA... he is a great resource for my anxiety but I have never and would never take him anywhere not pet friendly because he doesn't belong there and honestly he would be a terrible service dog because his protective instinct is way too high when he's around me.
