If you are using hard wax a trick I learned is not to let it dry all the way. Will help with not leaving to much wax behind. And hair should be at least a grain of rice long

It’s the direction that you’re laying and pulling, also if the way you’re hair growth pattern is irregular due to past shaving that’s also why, or lack of exfoliation and moisture
