As long as their rarity doesn't change they still upgrade. You can check this by reviewing them in the evo. Usually the last stage upgrades their rarity

Is not true people, they are not stupid. If you put it in an evo, the card will be different as before. So it wouldn’t work. If your player will be upgraded to 87/88, just wait a few days/weeks and you can put them in other evo’s
