@_thisgirljen_: You can call me Chief Jen! Being welcomed through a traditional Fijian kava ceremony is something I’ll never forget. Today I was invited to take part in this meaningful ritual, even being appointed Chief for the ceremony, a gesture of respect extended to honored guests before entering the property’s sacred hot springs and mud baths. Kava, made from the root of the yaqona plant, is shared as a symbol of unity, welcome, and connection. The ceremony moves slowly and intentionally, reminding you to pause, be present, and appreciate the culture you’re stepping into. Moments like this are why I love travel. It’s not just about beautiful places, it’s about being welcomed into traditions that have been shared for generations. Hi, I’m Jen 🇺🇸✈️🇪🇸 living in Spain with my husband.
