@sashablossom: There are certain parts of yourself you will only ever get to meet through experiences & relationships. This can be uncomfortable. So many of us would rather be a ‘finished product’ before putting ourselves out there. It can feel terrifying to be seen trying. To be seen learning. To be seen in humanness. 🌱🌱But to be seen in these states is where intimacy grows. Now, to be clear, there is definitely value in knowing when you need to step away from certain connections, especially romantic ones, to work on your patterns/NS inwardly. This is a necessary part of the work for everyone, to different extents. If you’ve been in trauma bonds, for example, taking a while off dating can be good for you. This especially applies if you know your current patterns are causing harm to you or others But there’s a line. There’s a line where healing in solitude becomes avoidance. Or perfectionism. Or aversion to vulnerability. Healing is about connection inward AND outward, until the two blend into each other in a beautiful kind of integration. And staying with yourself through all of it. To Love is the learn. We heal in connection, with self, with others, with earth. 💚 Ps this doesn’t only apply to romantic relationships. All healthy connections including friendships can be corrective 🌱 #Relationships #dating #healing #attachment #therapy

I literally said that to my therapist: I can work as much as I want on myself, but the only way I can heal relationship wounds is through guess what… relationships! the only way to rewire your brain is to let it experience positive corrective experiences.

It’s finding someone who will stick with you through the healing in a new relationship. Some just aren’t strong enough. But that’s okay because that just means they aren’t your person.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one who thought this. I too wanted to work on myself and fully heal before entering a relationship until my cousin pointed out what your therapist did

omg, this was my first dance song with my narcistic ex husband 😳. how?? but okay i had a relationship 6 years later, i felt the triggers went to therapie it helped a lot but not all. than in november i fell for a guy almost 14 years after my divorce, and he fell for me. it is or was like soulmates but he is avoident i learned about a month ago. and when i spoke about my triggers about silence and not knowing why, he pulled back. he doesn't want to try and work it out. he just heared me, quickly goes in his car and drove away. 😢

Bro I know the only way I’ll be able to grow and heal at this point is in a relationship, but I’m just going through lessons 😮‍💨

if you do the emotional work you won't know anymore what isolation is. the isolation of so many people was also within relationships, it was a self-isolation, the relationship was a distraction from it.

wasted 16 years of my life like that... now I can discuss philosophy and relationship psychology but still turn into a defensive nervous wreck whenever intimacy gets involved 🥳

memories create something called the theory of mind, which is our way of understanding ourselves and others, if thats flawed, its like operating with bad intel, and you can't just start being vunerable on your own, trusting on your own, having boundaries on your own, so, FACTS!!!
